Verifone announced in August 2014 that they entered an agreement with Gilbarco such that Gilbarco would become the integrator, distributor and service provider for all Verifone’s forecourt payment systems. Any pre-partnership commitments and agreements would continue to be honored in respect to Verifone’s Paymedia (Secure Pump Pay program).Verifone Smart Pump Access

During this time, Verifone’s new strategy with Gilbarco would be to continue to collaborate and engineer products sold under the Gilbarco sales channel. The current product is known as Flexpay IV and is exclusively available from Gilbarco for use with their model dispensers and retrofit kits.

Verifone stopped producing its Secure Pump Pay product line in July 2016 and existing inventory on- hand was used to fulfill existing contractual commitments. Beginning September 30th, 2019 only clients who are under existing contracts will receive support and repair from Verifone for their SPP devices. This includes the
Secure Pump Access (SPA) device.

COMPLIANCE INFORMATION

Visa’s U.S. deadline for EMV for dispensers is currently set at October 1, 2020. Additionally, the Verifone SPP is certified either to the PCI 1.x or 2.x standard and both have now been succeeded by versions 3, 4, and 5. SPP PCI 1.x devices should be replaced as soon as feasible because of possible vulnerability based on the age of the device. These are primary reasons Verifone has been forced to phase out repair services for the SPP.

The MassDEP Stage I Fact Sheet, “Frequently Asked Questions: Stage I Enhanced Vapor Recovery (EVR) Systems” has been revised and is now posted on the MassDEP Stage I Program website at the following link: https://www.mass.gov/guides/massdep-stage-i-ii-vapor-recovery-program

The revised fact sheet is located near the top of the website under the “News & Updates” and “Additional Resources” section.

A number of the questions / answers on the fact sheet were revised.

 

 

Please note: For Question 5, “What is the deadline to upgrade my Stage I Pre-EVR system to a Stage I EVR System?”, the answer to this question has been revised as follows:

 

5. What is the deadline to upgrade my Stage I Pre-EVR system to a Stage I EVR system?

GDFs that are exempt from installing Stage I EVR until the tanks are replaced
➔ GDFs with existing gasoline tanks with “coaxial” Stage I systems are not required to upgrade to a Stage I EVR system until the existing gasoline tanks are removed and replaced with new gasoline tanks.

GDFs that must install Stage I EVR at installation
➔ GDFs that install new gasoline tanks or a new Stage I system after January 2, 2015 must install a Stage I EVR system.

GDFs that must upgrade to Stage I EVR by January 2, 2022
➔ GDFs with existing gasoline tanks with “dual-point” Stage I, and pre-EVR “screw-on” spill and vapor buckets,must install a Stage I EVR system by January 2, 2022.

GDFs that are not required to upgrade to Stage I EVR until after January 2, 2022
➔ GDFs with existing gasoline tanks with “dual-point” Stage I, and Pre-EVR “slip-on” spill and vapor buckets, are not required to upgrade to a Stage I EVR system until the “Slip-on” spill or vapor buckets must be repaired or replaced, at which time StageI EVR spill and vapor buckets must be installed.

We are moving from our current location of 3320 Vineland Road, Suite C, ORLANDO, FL to a new location at 501 Persimmon Ave, Sanford FL.

UPDATE 3/6/2019 –  Operations at 3320 Vineland Road, Orlando, FL will be severely limited on Friday, 3/8/2019.  Please make arrangements with our Florida location ASAP at 1.877.835.8885 if you need anything over the next week as both locations will be in a state of flux for a bit.

Our last day of operation at 3320 Vineland Road, Orlando, FL will be on Friday, March 8, 2019 and we will re-open on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 501 Persimmon Ave,  Sanford FL 32771.

UPDATED 3/19: How to Properly Clean Gilbarco Dispensers

Every so often we get asked, “what’s the proper way to clean a dispenser?”  Like anything exposed to the elements, it is going to get dirty and using the improper cleaning techniques or cleaning agents could lead to further damage.    Just like washing your car will extend the luster and life of your vehicle, so will periodically cleaning your dispensers!

Technicians are not responsible to clean dispensers on service calls as this is typically a task that is performed by the station owner/manager.  But it is important that a technician recognize when improper cleaning agents and procedures being implemented by the station show the signs of chemical attack or damage so they can then inform the customer that their methods are doing more harm than good..

JWK Technical Training ClassesURGENT: ALL current GVR Safety Certifications will expire December 31, 2018, regardless of when the certification was taken!!

As of January 1, 2019, technicians will be required to have the API Safety Certification in the USA and the POST Safety Certification in Canada.

A Friendly Reminder For Our Friends in California: Proposition 65 Warning

Proposition 65, formally titled The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act was passed overwhelming by Californians in 1986 to allow them to make informed choices about their exposure to listed chemicals that may cause cancer and birth defects.

So with that said, several manufacturers have already started placing warnings on those products that contain any of the chemicals listed while others are placing the warning on every product regardless of its chemical composition (a very CYA move and why not in this day and age of constant litigation!).

This process of placing a notice at the product level started after the launch of our eCommerce site when we already had thousands of products listed.  You can see a product detail page from our web store below that shows where you may find the Prop65 Warning:

We will continue to add the actual warning to product detail pages when that information is made apparent by the manufacturers as to which exact products they sell that fall under Prop65.
