It’s recommended to change fuel filters NO LESS than once a year.
Fuel filters get clogged with use. They must, therefore, be changed regularly to maintain proper fuel dispensing operation.They also break down internally overtime to the point where they no longer filter but just pass debris through.
Higher fuel output facilities will need to change fuel filters more frequently however.
Other factors that dictate the changing frequency of fuel filters include:
- The presence of water in fuel dispensing systems
- The quality of fuel product
- Unacceptable / noticeable reduction in flow rate
